November 16th, 2007. Throngs of New Yorkers braved the November chill outside The Blender Theater at Gramercy for what they hoped would be a heavy handed, floor-heaving infusion of Kentucky dance-punk. Luckily, VHS or Beta was there to deliver. Continue Reading...
Supported by New York locals, Camphor and LA's Charlie Wadhams, The Bird and the Bee played a wonderful set to an absolutely enraptured crowd at The Blender Theater at Gramercy. Inara George is lovely, what more can I say? Continue Reading...

My credentials just came through for the VHS or Beta/Moving Units with Soft show at the Blender Theater at Gramercy. Call me an 80s throw-back sucker, but I love basically anything new wave. I distinctly remember walking into the Virgin Megastore in Union Square, pulling up to the listening booth where Night on Fire was playing, and buying the CD after about 25 seconds of play time.
I'm also excited to shoot at the Blender Theater. This new(ish) venue is reported to have some of the coolest lighting in NYC.
Stay tuned for the post-show and, of course, the pix.

At the time, it had been a while since I had seen a female-fronted indie band that rocked as hard as T&M. It had been even longer since I'd seen an indie band whose lead singer was also a lawyer and a sketch comedian. Continue Reading...
